Netflix is acquiring Warner Brothers - The wildest twist in competition. Netflix is securing to buy Warner Brothers, who owns HBO Max. They’ve been having a struggle since the separation of Discovery, and I was actually following this because there was going to be a big transaction. But I never thought that Netflix was going to take their shot, and I’m really proud of them. One less membership to pay, but also less competition in the industry.
Essential reading on AI models - If you are going to use LLMs for coding or for anything, make sure to read this post. It’s a very clarifying one about how to think about AI models.
Google and Anthropic’s approach to LLMs - Which is making progress at Gemini look like a great problem for them. I kind of feel like competition is good and we should never have someone winning the whole market. So this is actually pretty good.
ChatGPT turns 3 - Btw, we just had a 3-year milestone of ChatGPT. Daniel Avilas reminded us in his LinkedIn. Using LLMs daily has definitely changed my life - thanks to this team for their incredible work.
Waymo expansion - Waymo’s expanding across California with lots of reports showing their success in detecting and preventing accidents. Good for them.
